| In SABE, Peer dvisors
are used for the academic advisement of undergradate students in Special
Education. The model program is now fully functioning with a # of
students advisors. A peer advisors is generally working during the
hours of 8:30-5:00.
The peer advisors have all been trained through the University
on course selection, SIMS and other computer uses.
At the beginning of each semester, the head SABE advisor will place
a registration block on all students enrolled in SABE undergraduate
programs. The block is removed after the student has been an advisor
to plan a course of study for the following semester. Generally
beginning in October for the Fall semester and March for the Spring
semester, an advising schedule is posted for the academic advisor.
